The Gabion is a type of makeshift defensive structure made by weaving between upright sticks in a circle and filling it with rocks and dirt. Its made for an effective barrier for when guns were not super powerful as they are in modern times. They were used in a number of historical wars because they were easy to make, and effective for the time.
